OUR ANSWERS :

1) What I am afraid about the most is the eventual damage a shooting may cause. And I do not want any trouble. How can I be compensated?

You should know that the damage very rarely occurs. The professional shooting teams are used to work on location. To be careful about respecting the hired sets is part and parcel of their professional obligations. The role of the production manager and the line producer is to make the place and their constraints respected. The production designer and his team have the task returning the places to their perfect original state as well.
If any damage should occur, the contract and the insurance of the production company guarantee the fixing of the damage caused or the replacement of damaged goods.
Either the producer asks his decoration team to do the repairs or he employs an external company immediately after the shooting, whatever the nature of the repair work (painting, recarpeting, etc..).
A precise and complete inventory of fixtures added with a video description or photos allow us to make a list of your observations. To describe the location in full detail, the help of a bailiff could be proposed, all fees being covered by the producer.

2) Should the shooting create some noise pollution for the neighbourhood?

Noise is the enemy of the team ! Because of the sound recording and the rehearsal, total silence is a general rule required. On the contrary, It may often happen that the sound engineer and the director are bothered by the communal areas of the building. It often happens that the team has to wait for the noise disturbance to end to be able to resume the shooting. If the noise is going on (a neighbour's drill, the caretakers' hoover etc…), the production manager warns the person concerned with the necessary courtesy required. Generally people are understanding. It is the reason why the agreement in principle of the co-ownership (property manager) would be required before the shooting.

3) Who is paying for the lights? I am afraid that you will damage my wiring.

Your wiring would not be used for lights which cannot support the necessary power.

2 different possibilities are possible :

  • The production team have at their disposal an independent generator located in a soundproof truck. The groupman is in charge of bringing the main cable close to your property. The lighting electrician would connect up his own installation to it.
  • The production requires a plug-in to the state electrical company (EDF). According to the power required, the technicians from EDF would set us an electricity meter and a plug-in, temporarily in the nearest place to your property, on which one the chief electrician and his staff would connect up to. Once it is ended, EDF will send an invoice for its services and the amount of the electrical consumption.

In any case, you are not concerned by these technical details.

4) Will I be responsible for any troubles caused in my area?

If there is any inconvenience, absolutely not. Any shooting or any mobilisation of technical needs in the public highway (for example, the parking of the truck or dressing room trailer) are submitted to administrative authorisations (Town hall, police headquarters, police station), required by the production company. In any case, you are not concerned or responsible of these procedures.

5) Is there any risk of being "spotted by" undesirable people divulging my address and photos of my flat?

Cinédécors never mentions your address whilst canvassing. Photos are only presented to film production companies and professionals who we have first been identified and for who we are making researches.
Descriptive photos do not give any information about addresses. In our research, we only indicate a geographical position (for example name of the city or area in Paris). In case of free access, we apply the same rules with your agreement.
Before any visit to your property by a producer, we first check out their identity and the credibility of their requirements.
